About Facility Dispatch

Facility Dispatch reads the day’s self-storage news so you do not have to. Each weekday an editor goes through REIT filings, regulator notices, trade-press reporting and public announcements from around the sector, picks what matters to an owner-operator, and writes it up in our own words. Every item says why it matters and links to whoever reported it first.

Every Monday morning the best of the week arrives in one email, The Rollup. It is written for facility owners, managers, developers, brokers and the vendors who serve them.

Where we cover

Self-storage is a state- and province-regulated business: lien and auction law, zoning and tenant-protection rules differ by jurisdiction, and a rule change in one state does not apply in the next. Canada has its own section at /region/canada/, and every story says which side’s rules apply.

Who edits it

Facility Dispatch is edited and published by Christopher Ross, a Canadian web practitioner based in Fort Erie, Ontario, who runs thisismyurl.com. The editor is accountable for what runs here.
